The Shellback plate carrier is best used for Multi-Assault Counter-Terrorism Action Capabilities (MACTAC) as well as Counter-Terrorism direct actions. This plate carrier features flexible and adjustable padded shoulders. With this, wearers can easily adjust the shoulders to achieve more fitting wear. The shoulders of the Shellback plate carrier are designed with 2 rows of PALS webbing. With an elastic nylon sewn around the PALS webbing system, the carrier can allow the passage of communications as well as hydration tubes.

Both the front and back of the Shellback plate carrier features a 5-row PALS webbing system with 2 inches rows of loop, sewn on the carrier. This loop can be used for inscribing identifiers such as flags or patches. Shellback plate carriers offer a high level of ballistic protection as they are designed to take rifle rated plates. These rifle plates are loaded both on the front and back of carrier and are secured using either a hook or a loop for closure.

This carrier also comes with a detachable cummerbund which runs round the plate carrier. The cummerbund is designed to be fully adjustable and flexible, with PALS webbing pattern running through its interior and exterior. The cummerbund can easily be detached using a secondary strap system designed from a nylon material. This strap features an instant release buckle that allows for easy detachment in a case where the cummerbund is not needed for an operation or an assignment.
